Inspired by the emotional landscape of the moor, Tallis spent several years composing in quiet secrecy. Her album Braille is a sublimely haunting musical portrait that bears witness to the trials of love and loss.
The songs explore alienation, love, and despair, taking you on a journey towards redemption.
Although she trained as a classical pianist, eclectic influences weave their way into her strange musical cloth, from the folk-inspired music of Vaughan Williams, and the impressionism of Ravel, to Joni Mitchell and Led Zeppelin.
The album features collaborations with cellist India Bourne (Ben Howard), jazz drummer Coach York (Mike Westbrook), and classical violinist Anna Kirkpatrick (Tom Baxter).
